- There are quite a few differences between a yard garden and a container garden, but one big one is how they recieve moisture . Growing flowers , herbs, and vegetables in c ontainers differientiates them from the more common community of a landscape garden, with each container being self-contained and not able to gleen from the moisture or nutrients in the container next to it . Therefore you need to be sure each container isn’t just fertilized properly but is also watered correctly will cause the soil in the container to dry out much more rapidly than if these factors were drying a full garden.
